Select Sailing: Courses & Cruises on a Classic Yacht

Hi, my name is Chris Sinclair and I own and run Select Sailing as well as skipper Leopard. I have sailed all my life and have a passion for classic long-keeled yachts which I like to share with sailors of all levels and ability. I have been a YachtMaster Instructor since 1998 and worked initially for John Goode's world famous Southern Sailing School before moving on to set up Select Sailing in 2002. I like to run highly practical courses - after all we learn best when we are doing - but at the same time I know that much of the enjoyment of sailing comes from socialising and well earned runs ashore so expect to enjoy your time on Leopard as much as you learn from it.

		What is unique about Select Sailing is our school yacht Leopard - an exceptional 43 feet long classic yacht, originally built in 1959 as a Sail Training Craft for the Royal Naval College in Dartmouth. She has - possibly - the finest classical lines imaginable and sails as only a true thoroughbred classic can. Her seaworthiness is legendary and yet she can be well behaved enough to be sailed single-handed. Built mostly of teak, she has a character that no modern plastic yacht can hope to aspire to. At the same time, as a school and charter yacht she meets all the Maritime and Coastguard Agency requirements for commercial yachts.
