The ICC is an internationally recognised Certificate of Competence that will often be the "ticket" required for bare-boat charter, especially abroad. The exam combines theory and practical tests and can be done with or without a short preparation course beforehand.

• Suggested minimum pre-course experience: 5 days/100NMs, 4 night hours.
• Assumed knowledge: Day Skipper Practical knowledge and skills.
• Course content: Coaching for the ICC exam.
• Qualification: International Certificate of Competence.
